Sat Dec 30, 2006 9:47 pm   Just Got Banned from a Forum

Well of all things :? I just got banned from a forum that I just joined. I won't mention any names here because I'm not out to tarnish anyone's name, just that it was another "forumwise" network forum.

The moderator must have known who I was because he PM'd me and said that we don't advertise forums here. I PM'd back and said, "thank you, that was fine and that I didn't have any intentions of doing so". I didn't have a problem with that. (I could have cared less, I truly wasn't out to steal any of his members) - My username did not reflect it either, I used "MommyAffiliates". I did place my Mommy Affiliates link and my Wahm Blog in my signature line because he said we could have three lines in our signature. When I came back for my next visit, I noticed that he took off my Wahm Blog link. I realized then he probably thought I was trying to be deceitful because I had just recently added a blog post about our recent post at our forum. So, I understood that it was a "misunderstanding" and I just replaced my signature line with my other blog, MomsDailyDose.com. I continued to greet a couple of people, and then went to add two articles to the business articles section. When I came back the third time I was banned. I cannot get into the forum at all. I couldn't believe I was banned and had no bad intentions of stealing members at all...just wanted to chat with some of the other wahms there.

Anyway, I'm posting this here -- because I know when I visited there in the past, he spoke of another user that he "banned" from the forum. In case there's any of our members here that's a member there too, I need to at least speak my side of the story, lest you think that I've been out spamming other forums. :|

Anyway, life goes one...and I sure enjoy the peaceful ladies here on our network. Please have a wonderful weekend :D

Rhonda, that's too bad. He just cheated his members of getting to know about you and your forum as if he was scared you where there to steal them. Perhaps he hasn't heard of sharing or is just paranoid that his members would come here and not go back to his forum. I'm sorry you got banned and I'm just glad you are running this forum with the spirit of generousity as well as knowing that people come back where they enjoy themselves. That's why I keep coming back and I hope his members find a way to come by here so they can see what a real forum looks like, feels like and can be. Take care and God bless.

Happy New Year to you!

Gazelle,

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I guess I do feel like I need a little "pick me up" because there's always a little sadness inside when you get rejected.

I never meant any harm, and I guess he must be really "competitive". Some people are just that way. I just really wanted people to know my side of the story here "just in case" he says something to the members there and they may be a member here too. I didn't get a chance to meet very many before I got banned.

Thanks again, Gazelle.

ohh Rhonda,

He really did not know what a asset you were to his forum. Well.... we will take you any time. Some people just like the "power" that they have.

Or it could just be a mistake? well on his part. Count it all for joy now you have more time to focus on your goals :)

Joyfully,

What wonderful support! You ladies are awesome. :D

Rhonda, I know what you mean about having your feelings hurt because you did nothing wrong. As the others have said, it's his loss. The internet is a very large place and most people are members of more than one forum. Hopefully this guy will understand that and save himself some stress.

We're definitely GLAD that you're here!!

My feelings certainly would have been hurt. What a shame that those folks won't be able to appreciate all you have to offer, and I mean your personal attributes. Sounds like they could use a little "Rhonda-ness" on that board.

Ladies,

You sure know how to cheer up a person! I'm sure we've all had some bad experiences on the internet. We can't expect everything to go our way. But, they say, "birds of a feather stick together". It seems you find your way to connect with others who share your interest.

Christina, you're a member of someone else's forum besides mine? ~I'm shocked!~

Hee! Hee! ~Just kidding~ What a nut I would be to expect that the ladies here would never be anywhere else.

You all take care today!

Oh Pah-leeeze
If any one is worried about loosing people from their forum, then they had best improve it.

Banning others, for fear of competition, does not keep people on a forum, it is truly the content, atmosphere and good monitoring that will hold them.

His reaction is insulting to the posters, I think.

I have been to other forums, and believe me, that is in past tense as many of them I will not revisit. Simply because they could not hold me not because I was wisked away by another poster.
I say:
Offer quality and consistency and you will not have to worry about people leaving no matter if a poster as their own forum.

His loss for sure.

B.

"Breezy" is see a new ebook in the works here  You need to write us one on "How to Maintain a Successful Forum". I'll buy the first copy from you. It could be profitable... (I'm in agreement with you by the way :D )

Chris, don't go breakin' my heart with that news. This is the "only" forum for you.

Rhonda

I bet I know which forum that is too! There is a forum that I used to go to and this "guy" was STRICT.....he would say NO such and such type of AD's but yet runs around on various wahm forums spamming his ad for his forums....then the idiot PM's me about my signature tag....I use the same one on all the forums and said it was inappropiate? huh? LOL

I haven't been banned from there but I haven't posted in several weeks. Funnier yet, he sends a email newsletter about his LOSER forums every week to the members.

I think its the same forum you are talking about.

Don't worry....his LOSS!

HUGS

Wow. It seems like you've had a bad experience too. Yes, it's best to just move and not look back. 8)

An E Book, not just an article but a whole Ebook? Woah!

about how many words would that be anyhow?
and how many cited sources needed?

Gosh, I dunno. I think I would need a coach for that, or something.
Phew, sounds like a big task.

Tempting tho!
hmmm,
B.
