With online advertising, you're considering three main things: getting worthy "incoming links" to help your page rank, the best exposure value for your money, and of course "targeted" visitors.

Some of the best advertising I've paid for is the ones offering a "lifetime" listing. When you purchase a directory listing or some type business listing, don't expect that you're going to get tons of traffic or tons of sales. Consider that you want to get quality "leads". Link to a lead page such as a subscriber page for your mailing list and try to offer something F.R.E.E if possible. When visitors are browsing through several directory listings, that "Free" will be just a little more tempting to click on your link. You have just one chance to get their attention before they go on browsing other listings. Another thing that a "lifetime" listing gives you is unlimited exposure and of course a lifetime "incoming link" for you.

Established sites are the best option. I've taken a few chances on "new" sites because you can sometimes grab a lifetime listing at a cheaper price and then, if they grow later on, you still have your listing and will not have to pay bigger prices. Sometimes brand new sites fail and vanish, so limit your paid advertising on sites like these. When choosing, consider the quality of their content and their site's design. If it's plastered with tons of banners all over the homepage, then then visitors to their website won't stay long and you will not get any exposure.

You get a 100 word description with a link to your business and you also get to include a 125X125 banner as well. She has a very good established site and a google page rank of 4.
