I thought I would go ahead & post this for those of you who need comfort and are trying to make some sense out of the tradgedy that occurred yesterday at Virginia Tech. My thoughts & prayers are with the families of the victims, their friends, faculty & staff. May God be a source of comfort, Love & strength for them & you.
"Dear Friends....
The events we heard about & saw on television Monday, from Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, Vir5ginia were extremely disturbing & horrifying.
Our thoughts & prayers are going out to the families who lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence. At In-Touch Ministries, we will continue to pray for the Lord to comfort & heal everyone affected by this terrible act. It's difficult to understand how & why something like this could happen.
Often times, in the face of over whelming tradgedy, we wonder why a loving God would allow so much injury & loss of life. We ask "Why didn't He prevent it" Why didn't He do something?" My friends no one knows the answer to that question. But what we do know is that God is still in control.
The most powerful thing we can do at this time is to cry out to the Lord for the grieving families of those precious students, for their friends, the faculty, and the entire student body. The days, weeks & months ahead will be a long & difficult healing process.
The Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 is most encouraging when he says, " Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies & God of all comfort, who comforts us in all of our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort, with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For just as the suffering of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Jesus Christ.
Prayerfully,
Charles Stanley

Rosalee,
Thank you for sharing. The families of these victims certainly need our prayers at this time. One can only imagine the grief they are feeling.
God is a merciful and wonderful God. We do not always understand His ways, but we know He is a Just God as well. May God receive the glory in this matter...for those who may not have perceived how fragile life can be...for we know not when our last day will be. Giving our lives to God today to serve Him so that when our last day approaches we will not hang our head in shame when we face Him, but we may say, "I've given my all to God".
Prayers for the families who have lost their loved ones,
Rhonda |
