Has anyone tried social bookmarking? I tried this and found it as a very effective method to get some easy traffic for short time. The links also work as back links. It is easy to earn something extra.

I've heard alot of talk about "social bookmarking" but I have to admit, I haven't tried my hand at it yet.

For those interested, here's the definition for social bookmarking:

* Social bookmarking is an activity performed over a computer network that allows users to save and categorize (see folksonomy) a personal collection of bookmarks and share them with others. Users may also take bookmarks saved by others and add them to their own collection, as well as to subscribe to the lists of others. - a personal knowledge management tool

If you submit your website to about 100 social bookmarking websites, you will be convinced about this. I am sure. I hired someone to do this job, and I was really surprised. You get traffic within a very few days.

It can be good, takes a little time to get it going. I have several Squidoo lenses and am getting traffic from it. StumbleUpon is actually working quite well although I am fairly new to it. I am joining a few more. I am in Facebook, but more for personal reasons, but I do get my friends to visit my sites by having my blog posts on there live. It's hard to keep up with it all, so I am just doing a few at a time for now. But I have made a few "friends" this way and gotten some good link exchanges and one way links as well.

Can you give me some tips on Squidoo lenses, posting on it to get traffic, and also on earning from that website?

I just created several lenses that were relevant or somewhat relevant to my businesses. You need to make them interesting with several different modules, links to amazon books, spice it up a bit. It's pretty easy to do and you can change it whenever you want. They are not big money earners although I have earned a bit, they are more for one way links to your website and extra traffic generators, I wouldn't count on them to make good money.

Thank you. I have created a few lenses there, and the Google ads earn something. That is not much $0.20 or so in a month. But this is without adding any content to it.
