I thought I'd post my answer here :) I am bombarded with emails that say "I loved your site and want to exchange"...however I know it's a form letter...they have no idea what I have on my site...I've also gotten emails that say "dear Susan"...hmm my name is Audrey...always has been...which means they forget to change their form letter from the last piece of spam they sent out.
Great blog post. |

| Hee hee! That's sort of why I used "Harry" for the name in my post...in order to express the ridiculous nature of it all. They have no idea if I'm a man or woman, they don't even know my name. How can they really know if they want to partner with my site? What if I'm a Scam Artist they're linking to?? :? |

I totally agree with both of you!
I often get "form" letters from folks who want to barter for products with me and I can spot them a MILE away. I only barter with those I have gotten to know.
I have heard that scam artists are targeting wahms with these "I want to barter" type of emails...they agree to send you products from company X in exchange you sent them a few from your company...you NEVER receive anything from them! |

yes,
i get a lot of these as well. The sad thing is people fall for these scams when they are new to the internet. Pretty sad. I am glad you posted this Rhonda. Hopefully it will help a newby to be wiser.
Joyfully,
~Carla |
