Hello, thought I would share this email that was passed down to me from family members:

Hi All,

I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus so I believe this is real.

I checked snopes.com , and it is for real.

Get this E-mail message sent around to your contacts ASAP.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'Invitation,' regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens an Olympic Torch which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be receive d from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list. This is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called 'Invitation ,' even though sent to you by a friend, do not open it. Shut down your computer immediately.

This is the worst virus announced by CNN. It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.

I received this email a couple of days after I received my new laptop. Kind of put some fear in me to be super careful online. :shock:

Anyway, I thought it was worth reporting to the wahms here since we all need reminders to be super careful about the emails that we open.

This is very real. I got a "card" from a friend and did not open it and then it came again a week later so i thought i would open it and boy did i. it is this same virus. I had to get a new computer. Good thing I back EVERYTHING up and keep all my files on flash drives.

Be careful. I NEVER open fun stuff the one time i did .....

btw this just happened a month ago I just finished setting up programs the way i had it before yesterday.

I'm soooo sorry to hear this. How awful! I sure hate the fact that there are nuts out there who create viruses. I wish we could put an end to it.
