If you're a little bit on the shy side like I am, you might try carrying around a tote that displays your catalog in front as your official "purse". I set it up on the counter when checking out, carry it around when shopping, etc. I have had a few people comment on what it is that I am selling. It gives me the opportunity to tell them a bit about Watkins without bringing up the subject myself.
The bag I have also has some large pockets to keep my samples. I ordered some shiny gold labels that have my information as if it were my "little business card". I stick these labels on my sample and just had them the one item.
Here's the bag I ordered:http://www.expressyourselfonline.com/pages/scrapbooking/specialty.htm#gb180 (Scroll down to where it says "Show bag" very reasonably prices at $9.95). And no, this is not my website. It's just where I ordered it from. |

That would work if I could carry a purse and not loose it!
I also go to book stores and leave business cards in books related to what I do.
**Leave cards in in your used magazines if you leave them in places for others to use.
**If you mail in any payments - send a card with it.
**I hand out cards to people shopping in the health food stores while I'm there.
**All my emails have links in my sig line.
**Your hair dresser, bartender,waitress... is a wonderful way to get the "gossip" out about your business. They talk to sooo many people.

That picture bag is neat. I had not seen that one before.
Business cards are a wonderful (and not too expensive) advertising tool. You can give them to other moms when you are exchanging phone numbers. That is a wonderful way to let them know about your business without having to really bring it up.

I use my business cards for everything. I guess it kind of helps that my name is hard to spell, so I just give whomever the card if the spelling of my name is needed.
I also use the magnetic car signs. They are so pretty, I love using them!
I go to BNI (business networking international) meetings, which are awesome. They are professional networking groups and they only allow one person from each type of company. So for example, there won't be any other candle person allowed. I'm it. I get referrals like crazy. |

Aloha,
BNI groups are great ways to network offline. You just have to be able to meet at the same time weekly or have someone fill in for you. BNI just recently teamed up with Send Out Cards to promote SOC. Our most successful builders are with BNI groups.
Keeping your name in front of people is key. People are spontaneous and when they decide to do something, you want your name in front of them. I heard an online marketer say you would rather contact 1000 people 5 times instead of contacting 5000 people 1 time.
God Bless,
Joey |
