What type of promotional products do you hang onto except pens and pencils?

I am gearing up for an expo soon and i am looking for some ideas.

Thanks for your help

By Word of Ink has lots of promo items and they vary in prices so you might find something that will work for ya.

Some items that might work well (I don't know if By Word of Ink has all of them):
Key chains
Cups/Mugs
Magnets
Rulers
Letter Openers
Chip Clips

I have a tendency to keep calendars that businesses give away. I had one from a business owner who had little calendars with magnets on the back. I kept one on my frig. for a whole year.

I would use a paper cube, I also favor fridge magnets.

I really like it when missionairies put their pictures on magnets.

I think items like pens, note pads and stuff that would end up circulating are a great idea.

IF your business is food items, then a shopping list pad would work well.
With the shopping list or a pen You never know where they will be left, or who will pick them up. So not only have you become known to the one you gave it to but it will get passed around.

Key fobs are also another fun item. They can be gifted to loyal customers and when they use them = easy advertising for you.
Dont know how expensive they are tho.

I definitely would use paper cubes and I do like frig magnets as well...but I'm sure the frig magnets without a useful purpose would have a less percentage rate of being kept than more useful items. Once I have enough magnets on my frig --- I pass those items on to my kids to play with -- and when they've had their fun -- it usually ends up in the trash.

I offer administrational support so i was thinking for office type of gifts but i did not want to just give away pens.

I will have a booth at a womens business expo. I just read an article that you can give away small things with you name on it and for people who leave a business card you can give out more expensive items. Then you can also follow up to this lead later. My goal will be to collect leads.

I also read that bags to carry around papers from the expo are great they are walkig bill boards and if it is a good quality bag then they will still be in use after the expo. ( i can account for this)

I need to establish a budget and start from there. these are geat suggestion keep them comming.

Carla,

I like the bag idea -- that sounds like profitable advertising. Also, this shows that when advertising, you have to consider what your target is and where you will be using them -- as in your case, the bags sound like a good investment. And yes, for you -- you definitely want the business owners keeping your items since they will be your most likely potential clients.

I am liking the bag idea as well if i have extras i can use them even after the expo.

i think what i am looking for is small items that still say wow. Not everyone that will come to my booth will be interested in my services but they might be able to pass on my info to someone else that might be interested.

So what ever it is i decide to put my name on i need it to be of quality so that it can hang aroung for a while. I like the calendar idea as well but the expo is in march i think people will already have their 2007 calendars.

Joyfully,
