College can be an incredible expense - we all know that and for parents it can be downright depressing!

In the interest of time, I'll be brief. Wink If you want to know more about a scholarship competition I just learned about go here - Scholarship Post Mom's Want To Know About. It looks like a lot of fun!

You're welcome, Rhonda. I'm sorry that you even have to deal with this at all. Hopefully that site will come down or radically change. Smile

I've been pretty busy as well. My new coaching program for women in business online is going great. Today my free course on Podclass.com is beginning. I have to go get that posted now. Wink

Lots to do and lots of women to empower!!

Wow, Rhonda. I have had something similar happen. I had a women pretty much copy my entire site. She created a clone of www.jerky4college.com and just changed college to another word. I wouldn't have known had she not advertised it to a group I was in.

What I did was thoroughly look at her site and it was the same down to the number of pages and content on each page. She changed a little wording here and there and she didn't take my graphics so it didn't compare, but it was the fact that it was an obvious clone. I contacted her and politely, but firmly advised her of the error, copyright infringement and asked her to change it. Now, I happened to offer replicated sites on my domain at the time to other distributors. So I offered to set her up that way. She declined and made a few changes on her site.

Some people really don't think it's wrong to copy a site. Others do it intentionally even though they know it's wrong. For some reason they wouldn't think of copying a book, but think that web sites are public info. I'm not defending, at all, what this person did, but I would encourage you to take action of some sort whether it's contacting the person directly or Blogger. Definitely do something because it's wrong. I mean, they have YOUR domain name on their site as if your site is theirs. Not good.

Hey there!

I recently learned about a new site and thought I'd pass on the info. The site is called Podclass. You can set up courses at no charge. There's never a charge for free courses. You can offer paid courses and then a percentage commission is charged - but only when students enroll.

It's new to me so I don't have a whole lot of info, but it seems pretty straight forward. I've set up a free class to test it out.

The site is http://www.podclass.com

You can view my profile at http://www.podclass.com/irresistiblewoman

You can view my course at http://www.podclass.com/irresistiblewoman/190

That will give you an idea of what you can do.

You can incorporate audio and video as well as text.

You can choose to allow others to opt-in to receive additional info for your course. You can communicate with them right on the site. It's all built into the system.

Be sure to read the terms for what you can and can't do. I think it's pretty cool. It's a simple way to teach and present yourself as an expert. It's also a great to way to reach others.

Want to know another cool feature? For your paid courses you can opt-in to use their built in affiliate program. You can open it up to registered students only or all members of Podclass.

Check it out. Smile The site is http://www.podclass.com

Hey Rhonda,

I felt the same way, that it added a nice personal touch even though it's not a real person. Especially when you can train the agent to answer questions intelligently. When s/he gets asked a question s/he can't answer I get an email. Then I can check it out and if it's a legitimate question I can train him/her to be able to answer it. It's pretty cool.

You can put the code anywhere so I think a great place is at the shopping cart. On my site if you click on the signup link and go to leave the agent will come up. S/he is programmed the same way, but you could set up a different trained agent specific with info to thwart shopping cart abandonment. I was pretty impressed with the script.

I just got it set up today so I'll definitely let you know how it goes and the results I see from it. I expect good things. Smile

Did you ask my smart agent any hard questions? Someone wrote and said that the agent that helped her got a little flustered when she asked him/her about how she felt not being a real person or something like that. It was kinda funny.

I just set up another cool tool on one of my sites. You won't see it when you visit right away, but go here - http://www.successincentives.com - and check the page out.

Stay as long or as short a time as you want. Then close the browser/tab window. When you do that a warning message will pop up. When it does read it and do whatever you feel like doing at that point.

If you choose to click "Cancel", you'll see the new tool I'm talking about. If you decide to click "Cancel", test it out and let me know what you think. Hint: ask some questions. Wink

TAXES! Have you filed your taxes for 2007? If not, there is a great way to get them done quickly and sent in via e-file. The last few years I've been using the online service for H&R Block and although it takes time to go through the steps, it's a lot easier than trying to figure out paper forms. I'll admit that the paper forms confuse me. Rolling Eyes

Just in case you still need to file, I thought I'd post this link for H&R Block. One of the great features of using H&R Block Online is that it saves your tax info from the previous year and imports it into the current year's file. It's a nice feature.

Here's the link just in case you still need to file: http://www.hrblock.com/
