Do you have an item that you sell that would make a great promotional item for another company?

I was trying to think of ways we could help one another by cross promotions. For example if I sold beach wear and you sold lotions and creams. you could provide small samples that I could include with my items when they sold.

or if you sold candles and tarts. and I sold books maybe I could include a tart of a certain scent for the different types of books i sell. apple pie with the cook books, magnolia scent with the southern living book, or wild flower scent with the pioneer books, and so on.

What do you all think? and What do you all have that can be used as a promotional or an add on item?

Carla,

I think this is the best of the best for networking. Larger companies successfully use cross promotions. There's no reason why wahm businesses cannot do this as well.

I'm going to "sticky" this topic and anyone interested in cross promoting can post what they sell and then check back from time to time to see if they can partner up with someone who sells complementary products.

I have been brain storming on inexpensive but effective was to promote.

This is a great way to get you r name out there if you have a product. For services you can also provide gift certificates or???? I have to think on this one.

I'd love to help cross-promote.
I have items that would work for Baby/Mothering sites.
I also carry some great soaps that would work for real estate closings, etc.

The only thing that I can offer to this topic is our jar candles would work really well. Starting August 1st, 2007- we will have Gift Cards- that may work even better. Let me know if you're interested.

Candles and gift cards would work well.

They sound like good thank you gifts. Check in you area for spas, boutiques, seamstresses, tailors... that would like to thank their customers with candles.

This is months old, but I love the idea of cross-marketing and wanted to stir up this topic again. I have a beauty blog and am always looking for products (non-competitive with my own companies) to highlight or offer as give-aways there.
My mineral makeup samples could be cross-marketed with health, beauty, jewlery companies.
I also have postcards about my infertility/miscarriage book that could go with just about any women's products.

I just wanted to bring this back up to the top again. I still have GC's if anyone offers items for people that work at home male or female . I would be interested.
