Hello. I'm not sure if this is being posted in the right spot or not.

I'm very serious about working from home but am struggling to do so. I am currently a member to various sites (MLM...I know, I know) lol

I'm tired of doing that (mainly cause it's not working...and expensive to keep up with!)

So I'm seeking some advice on what my next move could possibly be. Any ideas would be hugely appreciated! While I'm not opposed to creating my own website, I'm just not sure what to offer. I've also thought about creating my own ebook and selling that, but again I'm not sure what to write.

Like I mentioned earlier, I am very serious about being able to work from home and am willing to "do what it takes" to make that happen!!

Help please!!

Thanks bunches!

Tiff,

MLM has gotten a bad name because of so many scams online. In reality, it's actually something that can really work to build income if you find the right company. For an MLM company to really work; however, it has to have really good products or services that help the company grow and provide a solid base (without good products, there will be no repeat customers, bad reputation of the company, etc.) MLM companies that are scams are ones that do not have real products behind them or the products are so horrible in quality, that the company evidentually comes to ruin. Many MLM companies are not really structured right.

While you're searching to find the perfect opportunity to suit your needs, I recommend that you immediately take a baby step (ACTION) by starting a blog on a topic that you are passionate about or that you at least have a great interest in. Choose a 3 or 4 affiliate programs that relate with the niche that you've chosen. Add some google adsense (mainly in the single post pages) and begin adding some great content.

Spend some time submitting your blog to website directories, blog directories and your rss feed url to rss directories. Don't forget to add an email signup page for your blog news. (You can start out with http://feedblitz.com/ )

As you start to grow, you'll find yourself coming up with new ideas, stepping out to build a new blog or website on another related topic...building your own empire / network of sites.

In the meantime, continue educating yourself about online marketing and start creating that ebook... related to the same niche as your blog. Hopefully, by the time you have your ebook finished, you'll already have some leads by emailing your subscribers and letting them know about your awesome new product!

Hi Tiff,

You've received great advice from Rhonda and I agree with her. Start small until you have a good grasp on what you want to do. In the mean time build your email list because it will come in handy as you grow in what you do. You could even blog about your search for a good work from home business/opportunity - and then use your experience to offer tips and later an ebook to others.

There are a lot of options now with the internet. If you like to write, definitely start a blog on something. Rhonda has great resources on MommyRevenue.com so be sure to check it out. LOTS of good stuff there.

Well I think the first step to being successful in anything is to do someting that you like.

With this in mind make a list of what you actually enjoy doing. Also make a list of what you do not enjoy doing. I know with MLM there is a lot of selling involved. If you do not enjoy selling, then clearly MLM is not for you.

Use your list to look for opportunities that match. I think this would be a step in the right direction.

If you have a fully operational home office. Maybe a telecommuting jobe will bettter suite you.

Joyfully,

We love helping anyone get their business feet on the ground....Rhonda's advice is sound...but....#1 mistake of home income builders.. is throwing business URL's all over the internet expecting someone to join with you...building a business is about building relationships and trust..a reputation...MLM is not where anyone should start first....
MLM...we think should be a major part of anyone's work from home portfolio...it the only way to build a residual income...one can be vested and its willable to your kids

Now..back to Rhonda's..suggstion..baby steps....

There are many FREE to start programs that will earn you from $30 to $300 monthly...many will not go this way because of pride...
But its what we teach and have for 20 years...you need an income to support your major mlm project until it gets on its financial feet.
From that same FREE income you can start small investments...ie...paypal and barclays have joined together..$1.00 min invest paying 2.96% currently...

You mentioned e-books..personally I have never seen one worth the paper it was written on...We call e-books the so called internet guru's scams....because once they have your $10-$40-$60 bucks all you will ever get from them is autoresponder messages...which by the way we DO NOT own one.....Now if you wrote your own about something you have full knowledge of that might be different

Before this gets to long to read...we will close by saying....REMEMBER..in building a home business....ITS ABOUT THE PEOPLE....not the product or the company...if people do not know or trust you...they will not join you in anything....But what if you can show them your earnings of $30 to $300 and be able to say Friend...it cost nothing but your time..2-3 hours a day to get started...That major $50 to $100K home income you want takes 1 to 3 years to develope...but it is very achievable!

We hope this encourages you and lets you know it can be done

Be Blessed

I do agree tons of ebooks on the internet are "overpriced", but that doesn't mean that there are none that are worthy. I've received ebooks jampacked with great information. I may have had to research at my local library and read through several different books to gather the same information.

If you ARE going to offer an ebook for a price, just remember to make it worth the price and make it high quality (proofread, great ideas, tips, resources, easy to read, lots of information, etc.) Once your readers see that you offer great quality products, they'll be willing to invest in new products you release as well, thus, creating a residual income.

Even brick and mortar businesses that are successful know the value of having a customer mailing list. Your current customers that value your products will be great potential repeat customers. That's why it's recommended to build your own list online as well.

First let us say....we can agree to disagree and still be friends....something all husbands and wives need to realize....as well...!!
Now....We just feel that..the list you mention...that is a word we hate...(list) its our personal friends....and until network marketers realize online business or offline business..any business...is.."about the people"...and helping them achieve their goals... "until that light comes on in the marketers brain success will not happen"....if any person just throws out buiness URL's and does not try to develop a friendship the business (list) will not last...
e-Books....what you say is 100% true...but you also make our point...there is nothing in e-books that one cannot find on the internet FREE...I want say e-books make us lazy but I do know e-book sellers depend on that very fact that you won't go look it up....we just feel research and study are KEY ingredients in building a busines...the person that won't take the time to educate themselves...most likely will not take the time needed to build a successful business....we cannot stress enough...it takes 1 to 3 years to build a major income on the internet...
We hate all the hyped-up ads we all see on the internet...join this make $20,000 a month...not going to ever happen without a downline...plus 95% of website online businesses fail with in the first 6 months...its just a fact.(You mention the real ones brick & motor and some of those still fail)

Hope we haven't rambled to much...

Blessings to all

I thought I'd check to see how you are doing. I hope you are finding some baby steps that work for you.

If you are unsure of where to go, you may want to consider working with a coach. I don't mention this simply because I am a coach, but because it sounds as if you would benefit working with someone even if just for a month so you can get some clear direction for what will work for you.

About ebooks - like traditional physical books there are good and bad ones. It's up to the person reading it to determine whether it was a good investment or not. The only difference between ebooks and traditional books is that you get access to them immediately and they don't take up space on your bookshelf. They are also more easily transported - no heavy boxes to lift. Wink Books in general whether electronic or not contain a compilation of information gathered elsewhere. Books and web sites that are how-to related are time savers by their very nature.

No matter what you call your list, list of resources, friends, address book, it is still something essential to doing business however you choose to do business. An autoresponder isn't a bad tool, but really a necessary tool in doing business online - unless you don't care about time. Why? Because it allows you to get information to a friend immediately even when you are not at your computer. You can schedule your tip of the day, newsletter and announcements to go out at a specific time - whether or not you are at your computer. It is also easy for subscribers (friends) to remove themselves from receiving messages from you without you having to facilitate the removal.

Like anything else, autoresponders can be used for good or evil. It's up to the person running it or creating it to determine which side they are on. Just like with ebooks. To say that they are all bad is like saying knives are bad. A knife can be used to cut up vegetables to make them easier to eat. A knife can also be used to hurt someone. These are inanimate objects, just like ebooks and autoresponders. They are neither good or bad. It's what a person does with them that matters. Therefore the business owner or marketer has the moral or quality issue, not the tool they are using.

I thought I would clarify some points so that the original poster knows different options and how she can use effective and time-saving business tools. A successful business does rely on relationships and there are tools that can facilitate those relationships quite well.

We..A1design Enterprise (AE)...believe in relating to people...e-books are just simply not something we choose to waste the time and money of our people on...just as we do not use autoresponders....because lets face facts...do you enjoy responding to a business ad only to get an automated message..NO.
AE was started in 1983 (offline of course by phone & fax...but a live body using that phone or fax) and we are blessed to have a membership based in all 50 US states and 17 foreign countries with just under 150,000 members. We communicate personally because of organization...Our leadership sends out 67 emails to leaders and every last members needs can be met. We just feel organization and personal communication are so important to meeting income seekers needs.
Now do we think we have all the answers..NO..we just know what works for us and I simply stated our method and views to a member than had asked for help...You and I disagree on methods of achieving success and that is fine...as professionals can agree to disagree and the young lady looking for help now has choices...amen
Both you and I seem to enjoy mentoring and helping others....and we are here to do just that if asked...

Be Blessed
