How many of you take time to spread the word about each new product or service you offer? Well, there's a quick way to spread the word.

Bloggers use a nice little tool called RSS feeds (Really Simple Syndication). And, yes, it is very simple. Why do so many people shy away from such a great tool? I believe it's probably just the lack of education or the understanding of what it can really do for you.

RSS feeds are not just for bloggers. You can use one yourself just for announcing each new product or service you offer, or use it to announce your new newsletter, weekly tips or articles to draw traffic to your website.

Ice Rocket ( http://rss.icerocket.com/ ) allows you to manually create your own rss feed. You simply sign up for an account. Then, each time you have a new product to announce, you simply login and click "add item" to post your new product (service, tips, newsletter, article). You can also provide an exact link to your product...which is advisable, since your visitors will not want to have to hunt down all over your site for that product you were talking about.

Next, do a search on Google for "rss directory" submit your rss feed url to as many directories as you can. Yes, this will initially take a lot of work...but the future will be much easier each time you want to submit a new announcement....no more posting all over yahoo groups trying to get the word out. Search engines pick up on rss feeds because of the frequent fresh content they offer.

I read (sorry, should have done that before, Ijust get excited to learn something new!) But I did the RSS feed things on Ice Rocket. But, what is my RSS feed URL? I see the page that talks about "feed validator" and it has a "http://rss.icerocket.com/xmlfeed?..." link there. Is that it? is that what I would submit to RSS search directories?
Thanks so much.

Yes, that should be it.

My feed url looks like this:
http://rss.icerocket.com/xmlfeed?id=6025

You login to your account and click on My RSS Chanels. Click on which site feed you need, then click on "publish" and you'll see a display of buttons you can use. From there, you should be able to find the exact feed url.

*Note: For any bloggers here, most blogs already come with their own rss feed tool.

Ice rocket has potential, like stated above, to distribute all your new sales, newsletters, any information you want to be able to distribute at a moments notice. So you can really find creative ways to use it.
